My style of drawing is basically very structural with unstructured results.  I'll have a image in mind and start the drawing within a grid and then just let the patterns build the drawing for me.  Some of my best results have come from just letting go to see what will happen.  It may turn out to be solid pattern work or just a few areas of pattern within a loose outline.  I just keep going until it feels finished.

Meet Adelor...

Adelor was the lion at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.  He died  earlier this year due to kidney failure, but we have fond memories of an unusually warm day in January, getting to know him.
